PCEF Holds 2nd Annual Education Open Golf Tournament
Sept. 3, 2007 - The Pender County Education Foundation held its 2nd annual Education
Open Golf Tournament on Saturday, Aug. 25, 2007 at Castle Bay Golf Course in
Hampstead. Approximately 40 golfers participated in the event to help raise money for
Pender County Schools. Local businesses entered teams and served as hole sponsors on
the course. Major sponsors included Castle Bay Golf & Country Club, The Horace Mann
Companies, Bob King Volkswagen, Burroughs & Chapin Company and Coastal Beverage.
"The golf tournament was quite successful. Each year we hope to grow and improve the
turn out. The event is a great way for the local residents and the business community to
help support Pender County Schools," commented Julie Ledermann, PR & Marketing Chair
for PCEF.
